AMI is one of the seven Centers of Expertise of the 3TU.Federation. 
It combines the strengths of the Departments of Applied Mathematics of the three Dutch Universities of Technology: Delft, Eindhoven and Twente.

3TU.AMI is everywhere

  1. AMI is multidisciplinary: 70% of all its mathematics publications are in science and engineering journals outside the field of mathematics.

  2. All education in mathematics is tailored by the departments of mathematics to all the faculties of the Universities of Technology.

  3. The departments of Mathematics at 3TU are preferred suppliers of innovative knowledge to industry, TNO and GTIs. The annual volume of projects funded by third parties is M€ 1,5 .


Chairs

AMI combines 21 chairs at the Applied Mathematics Departments of  the 3 TUs: 7 in the field of Computational Science & Engineering (CSE), 9 in the field of Stochastics and Operations Research.


Visibility

As a result of the concentration of strengths 3TU.AMI will be the key player with several prospects:

  1. 3TUs turn out  45% of all graduate mathematicians

  2. Focus and mass thanks to increased cooperation; the total amount of 3TU publications in the field of mathematics puts AMI on the 9th position in the world

  3. 3TU.AMI provides an organization for new initiatives

  4. One-stop contact for industry, government and education
